Giuseppe M. Macerata, Certified Executive Chef, was awarded the Presidential Leadership Award at Notre Dame’s annual Service Recognition and Presidential Awards Dinner on May 22, 2017. This award is given to an individual staff member in recognition of demonstrated University core values.
Giuseppe began his career at Notre Dame in 1996 as a member of Campus Dining’s Culinary Apprenticeship Program. Since then, he has served as a lead cook at Morris Inn, chef manager at Legends of Notre Dame, and production manager at the North Dining Hall. Currently, he is executive chef at Notre Dame’s Center for Culinary Excellence.
“Giuseppe has embodied the University’s five core values of integrity, accountability, teamwork, leadership in mission and leadership in excellence over the past 21 years,” said Chef Donald Miller, senior executive chef for Campus Dining.
