The newly formed Office of Event Management, Venue ND, has been created to book meetings, events and academic conferences on campus. The office will initially begin booking events at the new Duncan Student Center, Corbett Family Hall and O’Neill Hall, as well as at Morris Inn and McKenna Hall.

Pep Rally at the Town Hall Meeting

For their Town Hall meeting with Executive Vice President, John Affleck-Graves on February 22, the staff of Auxiliary Operations staged a surprise “pep rally.” All participants wore The Shirt from 2016, which was provided to them along with noise makers, pompoms and flags. A good time was had by all as the Executive Vice President took the stage to discuss updated parking recommendations, campus construction and ND Voice results for the University and Auxiliary Operations.…

Cook Wins National Ice Carving Competition

On February 18, Cook Danny Bloss was named National Pro Division Champion at the National Ice Carving Association’s National Competition in Perrysburg, Ohio.

This annual competition draws professional ice carvers from across the country, most of whom own their own ice carving businesses. Carvers must qualify to be eligible and are placed in either the pro or masters division.…

Segura Arts Studio announces traveling exhibition

The exhibition “Images of Social Justice from the Segura Arts Studio” is being displayed at the Snite Museum of Art and will continue through December 4th. Over 50 fine art prints will be featured. A reception is scheduled for Sunday, October 2nd from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. with a gallery talk at 3:00 by artist and Notre Dame professor Maria Tomasula. Accompanying the show is an exhibition brochure reproducing 23 of the works with an essay by art critic Sarah Kirk Hanley. A selection of prints from this exhibition will move to the Institute for Latino Studies’ Galeria America in the spring and will travel nationally over the next few years.…

Campus Dining 'Waste Warriors' Honored with Presidential Team Irish Award

On September 17th, a team of individuals within Campus Dining was honored for their work with LeanPath, a waste prevention program. Involving hours of meeting and planning, the LeanPath program required the installation of special food scales in Notre Dame's North and South Dining Halls and the Center for Culinary Excellence along with the process of educating staff members with use of these scales for optimal impact.…
