The Licensing Department is responsible for managing the commercial use of Notre Dame's trademarks and logos by over 200 licensees. Staffed by two full-time employees, it operates a multi-functional program designed to protect and promote the brand identity of the University.

The program is regarded as an industry leader with regard to corporate social responsibility, as Notre Dame was the first university to adopt and implement a labor code of conduct.
