Senior Administrative Assistant
Jon Adamson joined the University and Auxiliary Operations as Senior Administrative Assistant in July of 2016. He is responsible for calendaring, meeting coordination, correspondence, event planning, presentations, and travel logistics for the Associate Vice President. Additionally, he takes and prepares minutes for the three University committees chaired by the Associate Vice President. He also maintains the division’s website.
Prior to joining the University, Jon served as the Diocesan Administrator for the Episcopal Diocese of Northern Indiana for nine years. Beyond managing the office of the Bishop, he provided support as needed for various decision-making bodies and committees; planned and managed retreats and the annual convention; edited the monthly newsletter; designed and maintained the diocesan website; and assisted with e-mail marketing and social media.
After being promoted in 2011, he took over the financial oversight of the diocese, which included 36 congregations. He was responsible for reforming the annual budget as well as the strategy for the diocesan investment portfolio; increasing revenue collection; and administering the health insurance coverage and retirement benefit plan.
Jon graduated magna cum laude from Hope College with a Bachelor’s degree in communications. While there, he served as captain of the men’s track and field team and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.
Jon and his wife, Hollie, are the parents of three sons and reside in Niles, Michigan.
